Last month you might remember me mentioning Gideon and the two shofars he wanted to purchase. The same day that I was planning to send out the newsletter, I received an email from Robert telling me that he was feeling impressed of the LORD to send Gideon both shofars and let him pay for them as he earned the money. Don’t you just love it when the LORD pulls something like that out of his hat? Anyway, we kept it a secret from Gideon until they arrived in the mail. At the time of his email to Robert, Gideon had $160. He still needed $60 in order to purchase and ship the first shofar. By the time that he received the shofars in the mail he had $320! A wonderful couple that we have known and loved since first arriving in TN had sent him some money for Christmas. Also, the church where the children did the Christmas play gave each of them a rather large monetary gift. I wish you could have seen his excitement when he came running up to me after he opened his envelope. He wanted me to email Robert right then to let him know that he could buy the first shofar. It was pretty tough not to spill the beans about the surprise. But, I didn’t. He is super excited about this opportunity to use his namesake for the LORD. The angel of Adonai appeared to him and said to him: “You valiant hero! Adonai is with you!” Judges 6:12 CJB | As all the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season is upon us, I found two blog articles that I wanted to share with you. They are both quick reads as I know your time is limited! http://us1.campaign-archive1.com/?u=f2114d142d4bcfb5fe2061aef&id=7427995e4c&e=b4872058d8 http://messiahsmandate.org/the-real-st-nick-saved-669-children-from-hitler/ Our family hopes and prays you are reminded of your blessings as you celebrate the time of year that has been designated as the birth of our Savior. May your light so shine before men that they see the Baby’s radiant face as well as his sacrificial death, victorious resurrection and glorious return! |
Susan recently blogged about our family’s Hanukkah celebration. It included a post on our bible study group’s Hanukkah Party. If you have not read them yet, you can find them here:

The children had the premiere production of their play, The Checklist, on December 15. The house was packed and they were nervous! Despite a few mess-ups I believe the message was presented. We are extremely proud of the young adults our children are growing into and the work they take on for the LORD. Thanks to Delano Baptist for trusting them with the children’s play and giving them a chance to express their creativity and love for Yeshua in a special way. (The play was a Doctor Who spoof, thus the blue tardis box below) | Prayer Requests: *Please continue to pray for both Jonathan and Gideon’s gut health. I plan to explain more next month. *January through March are usually tough months as Life Care slows down considerably. Please pray Chris will be blessed with the side jobs we will need in order to make our bills during this time. We covet your prayers as we continue to follow the path He has laid out for us and for the finances to be available for us to fulfill this calling. *Penny’s dad was recently hospitalized for double pneumonia. Many of you know he has COPD and pulmonary fibrosis as well. His recovery is slow and he is having quite a bit of difficulty breathing. *Christopher has to see a cardiologist to test for Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy. Please pray for a negative result. Praises: *Gideon’s shofar experience (see above) * The success of the Children’s Play at Delano (see photos above). We are proud of the way the children presented the truth in a season full of myths and misconceptions. That is not always an easy thing to do. |
